An egg to blastocyst calculator is an educational assessment tool that models how eggs may progress from retrieval through maturity, fertilization, and blastocyst development.
The assessment can consider the number of eggs retrieved, mature egg percentage or count, fertilization percentage or count, and blastocyst percentage or count.
Its purpose is to organize stage-by-stage information and show how different low, base, and high assumptions may affect the calculated blastocyst range.
Actual laboratory counts can replace estimates when those results are available.
Important: This calculator is an educational planning tool. It does not guarantee an embryo or blastocyst count and does not replace individualized clinical evaluation or advice.
Estimate how eggs may progress through maturity, fertilization, and blastocyst development using your selected rates.
| Stage | Low (%) | Base (%) | High (%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mature Eggs | |||
| Fertilization | |||
| Blastocyst |
| Stage | Low | Base | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eggs Retrieved | — | — | — |
| Mature Eggs | — | — | — |
| Fertilized Eggs | — | — | — |
| Blastocysts | — | — | — |
The calculator multiplies eggs retrieved by the maturity rate.
Mature = eggs × maturity rate
Fertilized eggs are calculated from mature eggs and the fertilization rate.
Fertilized = mature × fertilization rate
Blastocysts are calculated from fertilized eggs and the blastocyst rate.
Blastocysts = fertilized × blastocyst rate
Low, base, and high scenarios use the corresponding stage-specific rates entered into the calculator.
If actual laboratory counts are available, those counts can replace the corresponding estimates.
Your calculated funnel may change when the number of eggs, stage-specific rates, or actual laboratory results change.
The calculator does not attempt to account for every clinical or laboratory factor that may influence embryo development.
This calculator uses the specified Egg → Fertilization → Blastocyst Funnel methodology.
Mature eggs are calculated from eggs retrieved and the maturity rate.
Fertilized eggs are calculated from mature eggs and the fertilization rate.
Blastocysts are calculated from fertilized eggs and the blastocyst rate.
The assessment is designed to organize stage-specific information and show low, base, and high calculations. Actual laboratory counts can replace estimates when available.

Egg donation is a process where a woman (the egg donor) provides one or several eggs (also known as oocytes) for purposes of assisted reproduction, with the eggs being fertilized in the laboratory. Once fertilized, the resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient’s uterus to initiate a pregnancy, or they can be cryopreserved (frozen) for future use.
