Billing & Coverage

We recommend requesting to speak with someone handling out-of-network mental health benefits to inquire about the reimbursement rate for therapy services.
For a free consultation, call 212-661-7177.

You’ll need to meet your deductible before receiving any reimbursement for sessions. For instance, if your deductible is $1,000 and your insurance applies $200 per session as the ‘allowable amount,’ you won’t be reimbursed until you’ve completed 5 sessions.

Submitting an out-of-network claim is easy:

  1. Pay the session fee at your appointment.

  2. We handle the claim submission for you.

  3. Your insurance company reviews it to check your eligibility for reimbursement.

  4. If approved, your insurance company sends the reimbursement directly to you.

The allowable amount is the cost your insurance considers reasonable for a session.

For example, if your clinician charges $300 per session and your insurance covers 70% (with a 30% coinsurance), your insurer might determine the allowable amount to be $200 instead of $300. In this case, your reimbursement would be 70% of $200, not $300.

Coinsurance is your share of the costs for covered services. For example, if your plan covers 70% of the allowable amount, you’re responsible for the remaining 30%. Similarly, with 40% coinsurance, your plan covers 60%, and you pay the rest.

Last-minute cancellations and missed appointments

If you miss your appointment or cancel it late, a cancellation fee of up to the full visit cost may apply. The exact fee will depend on your insurance and payment plan.

  • Late Cancellations: Appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance are considered late cancellations.

  • No-Shows: If you miss your appointment without canceling, it will be marked as a no-show.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
